Bumble, The Online Dating App Launched In India

Now India has a new dating app, the Bumble.

Bumble is targeting the Indian women at its launch. The app has Priyanka Chopra as one of the investors and the actor is doing a great job in promoting this new dating app in the country. Initially, this app will allow only women to initiate the date or conversation. This feature is just like the MyMove feature of Tinder in which women have the option to stop men from starting the conversation.

Whitney Wolfe Herd, the CEO and founder of Bumble, stated that she was informed by Priyanka Chopra that Indian women needed a dating app like this long back. Priyanka also has been a part of the group of celebrities who helped launch Bumble Bizz in October 2017. Whitney informed that the prime challenge in entering the Indian market will be to understand the local vibe and attract women to the app. She feels Priyanka can help a lot in this regards. Anjula Acharia who is also one of the investors in Bumble has been a long-time manager for Priyanka Chopra. She has used her skills to help Priyanka get established in Hollywood. Her achievements also include introducing Britney Spears and Lady Gaga to India. So, Bumble is having high hopes from Anjula as well.

This dating app will come in both Hindi as well as Hinglish format. The app will be compatible on iOS and Android smartphones. The app is also going to have several safety features to protect women against violence. This was specially done after India was declared to be the most dangerous country for women.

The CEO also informed that women just need to provide the first initial of their name and has new ways to report any improper behavior. The app already has a photo verification process and almost 4,000 content moderators working for the company.
